Marjorie Samuels, Counselling Psychologist
Marjorie, a Counselling Psychologist, has strong convictions about serving and empowering persons, she has a special love for persons infected and affected by HIV and AIDS especially the children and seeks out opportunities to reach and serve them. EVE for Life is just one of the places Marjorie executes her vocation and life mission.
She is an independent thinker, very professional and sensitive to her clients, and has effectively worked with a wide range of constituents in diverse communities. She provides individual and family counselling. Rosemarie Wignall Stone, Women and Family Life Coordinator of EVE for Life
Author; the autobiographical “No Stone Unturned” (2007) chronicling her “confrontation with the reality of her HIV-positive status” and “with husband Carl’s illness and his rapid decline to death as a result of AIDS.” Face; Ministry of Health (Jamaica), National HIV/STI Programme, Anti-Stigma Campaign 2009-2010 “Yes You Can” A Graduate of Mandeville Teachers’ College (Diploma; 1969), University of the West Indies (BA General 1975; Graduate Diploma in Education; 1977. Rosie is an outstanding and passionate advocate in the HIV response. She is a Teacher/Trainer/Facilitator and has served many groups. As a senior member of the Stone Polling Team (Prof Carl Stone) 1976 – 1993; Owner and CEO of the Stone Team 1996 – 2006, she has a wealth of information and intimate understanding of the Jamaican Psycho-social culture and its impact on women and families.
