Executive Director : Patricia Watson (BA, Media and Communications; MPhil, Development Studies) a Jamaican national is the executive director of Eve for Life.   Prior to her current role, Ms. Watson was manager Development and Fundraising at Jamaica AIDS Support for Life for a short stint in 2008. She also served a three year stint with Panos Caribbean where she was Regional Director HIV and AIDS.   From 2005 – 2008, Ms. Watson led the Panos Caribbean HIV and AIDS programme and developed various partnerships with local and international organisations. At Panos she implemented several innovative and successful programmes including the internship programme in HIV for second year communication students at CARIMAC, Our Own Voices, a communication programme for children living with or  affected by HIV, the Panos Caribbean Award for journalists writing on HIV (part of the PAHO Caribbean Media Award for Excellence in Health Journalism) and a media guide for reporting on HIV in Jamaica.   In 1996 to 2000, Ms. Watson covered the health and social security beats for the Sunday Gleaner, the Gleaner’s flagship newspaper. In 2002, she joined the editorial team of the Sunday Gleaner with responsibility for five sections including the awards-winning opinion feature In Focus and the main news pages. A position she held up to 2005.  Ms. Watson began writing solely on HIV and AIDS and related issues in 2001 and continues to do so on an ad hoc basis. While at the Gleaner, Ms. Watson conceptualised and wrote the Breaking the Silence, Dispelling the Myths about HIV series, which ran from 2001 – 2005. She won numerous local, regional and international awards for the series including the Pan American Health Organisation Caribbean Media Awards for Excellence in Health Journalism (11 awards including Most Outstanding Journalist in the region and the UNIFEM award for her work on HIV and Gender), the Pan American Health Organisation 100th Anniversary Award, the UNFPA Platinum Award for HIV/AIDS reporting, the USAID/MSI CIV-JAM Civil Society Award for Investigative Journalism, the International Planned Parenthood Federation/WHR Rosa Cisneros Award, the Press Association of Jamaica Award for health (two awards) and the Jamaica Broilers Playfair Award (two awards).   Ms. Watson also authored other articles such as: Trouble in Paradise – HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean which appeared in the UNESCO Courier in 2004. She has also edited socio-economic publications, notably the Jamaica Human Development Report 2005.  Between July 2004 and January 2005, she worked at the UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS as the Focal Point.   Ms. Watson continues to carry out consultancies in HIV communication and research for various national and international organisations including the Caribbean HIV and AIDS Alliance, the Ministry of Health, Jamaica; UNAIDS, Jamaica; Jamaica Network of Seropositives and the Panos Global AIDS Programme.  Educated at the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication, University of the West Indies and at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Media and Communication and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies. She was awarded an academic award by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and an academic scholarship by the UK Department for International Development. At Cambridge University, Ms. Watson focused on Gender, Development and HIV and AIDS.   She is currently a member of the Community Advisory Board of the HIV Vaccine trials in Jamaica, member of the Cambridge Alumni of Jamaica and a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust. She also served on the Jamaica Country Co-ordinating Mechanism (HIV) from 2002 to 2005 and on the Jamaica Country Co-ordinating Mechanism Oversight Committee from 2007 to 2009.

Director of Programmes : Joy Lovelet Spence-Crawford, RGN is on a mission of service packaged in absolute love. She believes that passion and commitment should accompany humility, respect and goodwill for all peoples.  Her work experience spans more than 25 years in such areas as Project Management, HIV Programme Development and Implementation, Trainer, Coach, Counsellor and facilitator. She has offered technical support in Monitoring and Evaluation and research and data collection to various organizations. Mrs. Crawford is one of only four HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing Master Trainers in Jamaica and has conducted VCT services to various organizations.  She also specialized in the Management of Primary Health care Services, Adolescence sexual and reproductive programming and General Nursing with special emphasis on Psychiatry. Mrs. Crawford has developed several training material/manuals on adolescent reproductive health, HIV and AIDS and parenting. Information Technology Administrator : Peter Crawford is currently an Information Technology Manger with a leading financial institution in Jamaica. He has worked in various technical areas and levels of management for the past 20 years in various industries. He has also worked as an IT Consultant and freelance Programmer /Analyst. He is also a trained ECG technician and has been in voluntarism for the past 17 years mainly with Hope Worldwide Jamaica and Jamaica AIDS Support for Life.  He is married with three children. One adopted.  When I am not working I like to spend time with my family. I like to watch and play sports.
